The Schumachers were honored on July 26, 2017, at Access2017, the national conference of the Charis Fellowship (Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches).
Prayer is requested for former Charis Fellowship military chaplain and long-time endorsing agent, John W. Schumacher, Chaplain (Colonel) U.S. Army, Ret.
He has had serious health problems beginning with a stroke in October 2020. This past week, he had another one that was worse than before. It affected the left front of his brain and has affected his cognition.
He was released to care at home in Phoenix on Friday, January 29.
His wife, Martha, has coordinated for the appropriate medical personnel (and equipment) to come and support her in caring for him.
Their sons, John and Eric, were scheduled to arrive last evening. Their daughter, Julie, who is doing missions work in Vietnam, is working her options.
- For wisdom, strength, and grace for John, herself and the family
- For wisdom for Julie – traveling back from Vietnam at this time is difficult to coordinate due to COVID
Schumacher served the Charis Fellowship as the chaplain endorsing agent for more than 22 years after completing 30 years as a U.S. Army chaplain.
