Cecil O’Dell, who works with Japanese returnee ministries in Long Beach, California, has forwarded the following information and prayer request from national ministry partners, the Kinjo family, whom many will know from the time they spent in the Columbus, Ohio, area. Your prayers will be appreciated. The email address for the Kinjo family is
Thank you very much for your prayer for our family. In this time, Fuji and I (Yuki) have to tell our very saddest report about our family.
We would like to tell about our second daughter, Kanan. She (Kanan) has lost physical condition since in the middle of September this year. She had high fever continually, and she lost her immune ability, also she had difficult to stopping bleeding. She could not recover for last three weeks even though she had visited three different children hospitals. Finally, she was transferred to a big children hospital in Okinawa at the last week.
A day before we heard about the detail test result from the doctor, Fuji and I had fell down by the extremely fear and anxiety. The next day her doctor told us about Kanan’s disease. It was “acute myelocytic leukemia.” We were very shocked by this fact, and we sad like broken our hearts. We could not receive this fact by our man’s ability. But the Lord knew our weakness. That why He gave us just faith by His mercy through the Word of God and the Holy Spirit. Right now we almost fell down, but we can stand just by faith from the Lord. Her doctor said that five-year survive rate is 60 % in the current data. Fuji and I have been trying to think not “why this kind of suffering happen to us,” but “for what this kind of suffering happen to us.” This reason was that we are able to conscious that the Lord controls everything according to His Will.
Kanan will start to receive a chemotherapy from October 12th for about next six months. We covet your prayer for her that the Lord of Great Healer may heal Kanan perfectly from her acute myelocytic leukemia.
Also an entire Kinjo family may see His plan for Kanan and her family through our family suffering period. Right now both Yuki and Fuji has been helping Kanan in her hospital for 24 hours alternately. The doctor said that it will be very hard for Kanan in the first couple months. May the Lord mercy upon Kanan in His winds. Please pray that her therapy may start smoothly without strong pain hopefully.
Also please pray for her elder sister and younger brother that they may help each others for their family needs.
In His Peace,
Yuki and Fuji Kinjo
