Prayer is requested for Randy Weekley, pastor of the Grace Brethren Church in Pinellas Park, Fla. He will have surgery on Monday. Today, he asked for prayer on his Facebook page. It is shared here with his permission:
I have been struggling with my pride on whether or not to put this on Facebook. But I cannot do this alone so I am asking for prayer from my dear praying friends. This coming Monday around 11:30 a.m. I will be having surgery at the Bay Pines VA hospital. I will be having my left leg amputated from below the knee. I have a disease called Villonodular Synovitis, which has through the years eaten away my ankle, in the x-ray it is just one black mass. (I have the same problem in my right ankle, but not as severe yet) Lord willing, after total healing I will be fitted with a prosthetic, needless to say I am very anxious about this along with my precious family. Words cannot express how great our church family has been to us .
All that to say if the Lord lays this on your heart , would you please pray. I will be laid up for some time and I have no idea what the future holds – except I am confident in the One who holds my future. This is a brand new chapter in our lives and we are trusting Him for His will to be done. Thank you so much – I will do my best to keep you posted in the coming days.
Pray for Randy, his wife, Jean, and their family during this time.
