Steve Mitchell, the son of retired Charis Fellowship pastor, Dave Mitchell, is seriously ill as a result of Covid-19. He has several other medical conditions that complicate the diagnosis, as well. He has been hospitalized in Columbus, Ohio, for several days. (Steve is also a pastor in central Ohio.) Below is an update posted on Facebook this morning by his brother, Mark.
Brief update: there are no real changes in his status at this point. The Dr. is going to try and reduce the medication that paralyzes the body today. Mathew 18:20 says Where two or more are gathered In My name, I am there with them. At 11:30 eastern, we as a family are going to be praying for Steve. We would like to invite the rest of you to pray along with us at that time. Pray for healing, wisdom for staff, and strength for our family. Thank you everyone for all you have done and for all the prayers lifted up.
Update early Tuesday afternoon from Mark Mitchell:
Personal update:
Did you feel that? We sure did. There were so many joining us in prayer today and your love and support was felt deeply. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Now for the Dr update:
There have been some slight changes today that are encouraging. They were able to take him off of one his medications for his heart – his liver is showing improvement – his blood does not have an infection but does have a urinary track infection which he was already receiving the right antibiotics for. His lungs are still stiff from inflammation but his oxygen level is still the same and not getting worse. It is Steve and Supryia’s anniversary today and the incredible nurses allowed for a zoom call where we could talk to him and share the love from all of you. He is still critically ill and anything could happen at this point be we will celebrate even the smallest of improvements. We have a peace in our hearts that God is in control.
