Jack Brown, director of Grow New England, a Charis Fellowship church-planting endeavor in the Northeast, has sent his January prayer letter. Here are a few tidbits from the letter.
Dana and Kate Moore concluded 19+ years of ministry at North Shore Bible Church! They will be greatly missed. Pray for them as they wait on the Lord to see for what He has next on their journey.
Pray for Phil and Emily Shearer and their family as Phil assumes the role of lead pastor at North Shore Bible Church. The Shearer’s have served at NSBC since May 2015. We are excited to see how God is going to use Phil to lead NSBC forward in reaching the north shore with the gospel, making disciples who make disciples.
We are excited to welcome Brandon and Joelle Haun to NSBC Danvers. Brandon visited New England with Operation Barnabas, a ministry of CE National, in 2013 while he was still in high school. He came back a couple of years later and served as a summer intern for a month. Brandon and Joelle met at Grace College and were married in August 2018. As a couple they want to live on mission and they began to pray about where God would have them to serve. In an effort to keep the story short God gave them a burden for the people of New England. Brandon found a job in the area and they made the move from Columbia City IN the last weekend of 2019. Pray for them as they settle into the area and Joelle looks for a job. We are thankful to have this young couple as part of the team in New England.
A new format on Sunday mornings in Danvers. I like to call it “Brunch and the Bible.” Starting this past Sunday, we will be having brunch every Sunday morning from 10:00-10:30 followed by a time of teaching and discussion. Pray that God might use this new format to reach the community.
It is exciting to be a part of what God is doing in this region. I want to thank you for your partnership. I also want to ask you to prayerfully consider how you can be involved in the ministry of church planting in New England. Perhaps God might bring you to New England to be a part of the team on the ground. Or perhaps you’ll partner with us right where you are, would you consider renewing your commitment to pray and give to the work being done in this region?
