Grace Seminary and CE National are offering a Pastorpedia Live on Wednesday, September 14, with David McClellan. Dave will be speaking on the topic “Preaching From the Heart For the Ear.”
This topic became of particular interest to Dave as he pursued a Ph.D. in rhetoric at Duquesne University. He has continued to explore the uniqueness of how a sermon that was built inside the preacher and released “in the moment” to a specific congregation can have major implications in today’s pulpit.
Dave will share:
- how preaching fits into the rhythm of a pastor’s week
- how to find the “sermon that’s already there” in the text
- how to free ourselves to speak more directly from the heart and less from abstract and secondhand theory
- why expository preaching is still vital.
Please join us for this intriguing and insightful time on September 14 at CE National’s Russell Center (1003 Presidential Dr., Winona Lake, Ind.). The doors will open at 9:30 a.m. for sign-in with the program beginning at 10 am. The day will conclude by 3 p.m.
Pastor Knute Larson will emcee the day and will also share his “From the Pastor’s View” right after lunch.
You can register here. The cost is $33 per person. For every two paid people who come together a third can come for free (all need to register). Lunch is included in the fee. Registration deadline is September 8.
