A celebration of life for Dr. Lester E. Pifer was held Sunday, January 12, 2020, at Grace Polaris Church, Westerville, Ohio. Dr. Pifer died Christmas Day at the age of 99. Pastor Mike Yoder led the service. Mark Pifer shared on behalf of the family, and other memories were shared by Bob Combs, Chip Heim, Bob Fetterhoff, Liz Cutler Gates, Mark Taylor, and Tom Currie. Dr. Jim Custer gave the message.
Dr. Pifer was involved in church-planting efforts in the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches (Charis Fellowship) for many decades. Following his retirement from Grace Brethren Home Missions, he served on staff at Grace Polaris Church, working with the cancer support group, leading a men’s Bible study, and serving as seniors’ pastor.
