Registration is now open for the Central Focus Retreat, the first of five regional gatherings for ministry leaders in the Charis Fellowship.
The retreat will be held October 07 – 09, 2019, at The Lodge in Syracuse, Ind. The Lodge is a ministry of Grace Community Church, Goshen, Ind. (Jim Brown, senior pastor).
Led by Phil Sparling, executive director of the Charis Fellowship and pastor of Auburn Grace Community Church, Auburn, Calif., the retreat will focus on God’s Word. “God has given us such an incredible gift and tool: His Living Words,” says Phil. “God has spoken to humanity so as to be understood and to communicate about Himself to His creation. We have the privilege of being the unashamed workmen, regularly dispensing these Living Words. Let’s gather together to celebrate His Words, be challenged by them, refreshed in them, and better equipped to share them with our world.”
The new President of the Charis Association of Central Africa, Bavon Jonas, a local church pastor in Bangui, will be conducting a fraternal visit to the USA and will be attending the retreat, along with Dr. Francois Ngoumape, dean of the School of Theology (Seminary) in Bangui. Donations are being taken to help cover their expenses.
If staying at the Lodge, participants need to bring their own bedding, towels, and toiletries. Rooms are also available at the nearby Brook Point Inn, if hotel-style lodging is desired.
