Last week, we reported about specialized ministries of two Indiana Grace Brethren churches. The Flora Grace Brethren Church held Vacation Bible School for the first time in many years. At South Bend, the Grace Community Church sponsored a soccer camp. Here are final reports from both communities:
The Flora Grace Brethren Church concluded its Vacation Bible School on Friday, June 8. “Our best attendance was on Thursday evening when we had 18 children and two teen-agers in the building. Sadly, though, none of the families attended church on Sunday, June 10. Thanks to all who pray for us regularly. We definitely have some more work to do.”
The town of Flora is located in north central Indiana.
To the north, in the city of South Bend, Campus Pastor Tim Boucher concluded the week with 15 minutes (or was it seconds?) of fame with an interview on a local television station over the weekend. But more important, he says, was how God used the youth group from the Wooster, Ohio, Grace Brethren Church.
He reports, “… the youth group from Wooster did a GREAT job helping us this past week. The soccer camp was amazing…110 kids expressed faith in Christ!!! How cool! We had four new families at church Sunday…praying for the follow up! We have some work to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Wooster group did a lot of other outreaches and projects while they were here…it was GREAT to have them.”
