Access conference continued Saturday morning with breakfast sponsored by Encompass World Partners. Dave Guiles, executive director, led the business meeting portion of the morning that included a financial update, adding potential board member names to the ballot, and an announcement of his own retirement. After more than two decades of leading Encompass, Dave will transition into a role in mobilization and working with the Charis Alliance. His successor will be announced this fall. Other updates were given from current workers in the field, mobilizers Gwen and Mike talked about how others can get involved, and Elise Klawitter shared her journey of joining the Transformation Works Network of Encompass and returning to France to work with organizations and churches on marketing, communication, and business strategies.
Scott Feather, lead pastor of Gateway Church in Parkesburg, Pa., spoke at the morning celebration on the attitude of biblical relationship. He raised the question, “How do we define ‘we’?” and discussed why, who, what, where, win, and how. Following the celebration were workshops on topics such as reinventing church, growing in biblical relationships, walking with others in wisdom and love, leading through crisis, and Hispanic Leadership Training.
Eagle Commission sponsored lunch and Endorser Mark Penfold shared about the mission and vision of the organization. Chaplains from across the country gave updates on their current and future assignments.
