Services for Polly Jackson, wife of Grace Brethren pastor and church planter, Ed Jackson, will be Saturday, May 31 at Grace Church, Powell, Ohio (Rick Nuzum, pastor). Polly died May 26. Her obituary appears below.
Pauline “Polly” Jackson, age 89, of Westerville, was promoted to glory Monday, May 26, 2014, surrounded by family and her pastor. She joins her parents Walter and Ida Shook, sister Twyla Haulk, niece Connie Miller, and son Jim Jackson. She is survived by husband of 69 1/2 years, Edward; daughter, Jill (Terry) Barr; daughter-in-law, Sheryl Jackson; granddaughter, Jill (Rick) Wulf; great grandchildren, Lily and Caleb; sister, Carol (Richard) Rufener; brother-in-law, Dallas Haulk; nephew, Randy (Judy) Haulk; niece, Bethany (Michael) Russo; several great nieces, nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Polly worked for Goldsmith Watt Agency in Westerville. The majority of her life was spent as a constant helpmate to her pastor husband in Kenai; Homer, North Pole; Alaska; Orlando, Florida; Winona Lake, Indiana; Findlay, Worthington and Powell, Ohio as well as short term missions trips to Africa. Family will welcome friends from 4-7 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2014 at HILL FUNERAL HOME, 220 S. State St., Westerville, Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 10 a.m. family and friends will celebrate Polly’s life at GRACE CHURCH, 7600 Liberty Road North, Powell, Ohio. Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 11:15 a.m. With Polly’s heart for the African people, her family requests, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Grace Church African Missions in her memory.
