Bernie Schneider, Angie Garber, Marguerite Dunning, Elizabeth Tyson, and Christopher Sower are among the Grace Brethren pioneers featured in Heroes Who Live On, Volume 3, a collection of character-trait vignettes that will be released in July by BMH Books (Winona Lake, Ind.) at the annual conference of the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches. The conference will be held in Tampa, Fla.
The book, which also includes Floyd Taber, Amy Greenlun, Raimundo Cardoso, Keith Altig, James Boyer, Walter Fretz, and Herman Koontz is the third in the series. Like the others, is written for upper-grade-school level and focuses on a particular biblical character trait embodied by the individual portrayed in the given chapter.
It was written, as were the previous two, by former Grace Brethren missionary Robert Cover, Sr., his wife, Joene, and his daughter, Viki Rife, who is communications coordinator and director of girls’ ministries for the Women for Grace USA and for SMM.
This volume, along with the new Brethren history book by Todd Scoles, is being underwritten by gifts to the Brethren Missionary Herald Company in this 300th anniversary celebration year of Brethren history. It will be available without charge to each church in the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches and to Grace Brethren missionaries. Additional copies will be for sale from BMH Books and at www.bmhbooks.com. The ISBN number is 978-0-88469-091-7.
