Sean McDowell asked Momentum students Thursday morning if they loved truth. It matters, he said, because truth has consequences.
An apologetics professor at Biola University in La Mirada, Cali., McDowell is also a teacher at a private high school. He recently co-authored the book So The Next Generation Will Know.
People in the modern day believe that morals are subjective, not objective, McDowell said. What matters is if it “feels right.” McDowell argued that each belief system requires judgement and has moral standards. The presence of right and wrong point to a giver of truth.
“If you live your life based on feelings alone you will destroy your life,” McDowell said.
The resurrection either is a historical fact or it is not. If the Bible is true, how do we know? McDowell answered this question in the evening session.
