Grace College’s volleyball team was rewarded after a strong 2020 season with six All-Crossroads League honorees.
Makaela Lochmueller headlined Grace’s awards when she was named First Team All-League. Gabbey Harrington and Paige Eakright were Second Team All-League recipients, and Julia Nagy was named to the All-Freshmen Team.
Lochmueller was one of three players to see time in every set during the conference season. The junior tallied 102 kills, 5 solo blocks and 33 block assists for the Lady Lancers. Her attack percentage of .262 was the highest on the squad.
Harrington was strong during her first season as the full-time setter. She passed out 525 assists to go along with 69 kills and 117 digs.
Eakright pounded out a team-high 121 kills. The senior averaged 2.7 kills per set, tops on the team.
Nagy impressed during her freshman campaign. The libero had 186 digs, averaging 4.3 digs per set before missing time due to injury.
Novotny produced a team-high 191 digs (3.5/set). She also served up 12 aces, which led Grace.
Colbert tallied 105 kills during her freshman season. The outside hitter had 2.4 kills per set, second on the squad.
The Lady Lancers will take on the 2020 NCCAA National Championships this week in Saint Paul, Minn. Grace will play Mid-America Christian on Thursday and Campbellsville and Bethel on Friday. – from gclancers.com
