The softball team at Grace College, Winona Lake, Ind., has been recognized nationally for its athletic and academic achievements.
Four players were named to the NCCAA All-Region Team in Sam Heim, Britney Young, Chandler Elliott and Hannah Herbster.
Heim was also named NAIA/NFCA First Team All-Region after batting .391 with team-leading 63 hits, 39 runs, and 28 stolen bases.
Additionally, Grace boasted five players who achieved Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete status. Elliott, Ashley Kleinbub, Emily Bobb, Kyleigh Garner and Paige Hlutke were all scholar-athletes. Grace’s five scholar-athletes were the second-most in the Crossroads League.
To become an NAIA scholar-athlete, a student-athlete must be an upperclassman and maintain a GPA of 3.5.
