Mansfield, Ohio, television station, WMFD, shares the story of this year’s Wifflefest at Southview Grace Brethren Church in Ashland, Ohio (Mark Abel, pastor). A portion of the print story appears below. Click here to read the complete post.
The 14th annual Wifflefest is coming up this week beginning on July 4th at 9am at Southview Grace Brethren Church in Ashland. There will be five different tournaments, the Adult tournament on the fourth. The High School tournament on Friday at 5pm, the Elementary Tournament Saturday at 9am followed by the Junior High Tournament at 4pm. Sunday will feature the Family Tournament beginning at 1pm.
The Southview church website also has information about the event:
Returning this season will be six tournament divisions, including elementary (grades 3-5), junior high (grades 6-8), high school (grades 9-12), adult, competitive family, and family fun. Divisions are based on the age or grade of the oldest member on the team.
The only change from last year’s tournament is dictated by how Independence Day falls this year. Before, the tournament would build up to the adult division, but now it will start with the adult tourney July 4, and then continue through Sunday, July 7.
Jason Taylor, a cowboy preacher from Texas, is the event’s keynote speaker and will be speaking 10 a.m. Sunday, July 7. Southview GBC will also have its annual community hog roast at 6 p.m. July 4.
