A team of 13 people from the Grace Brethren Church, Portis, Kan. (Dave Sarver, pastor), traveled 1,600 miles by car to participate in this week’s Great Canadian Adventure at Bow Island, Alberta.
They are helping with Monday Fun Day at a local park this afternoon. They will also be helping with building projects and serving a dinner for first responders, plus learning tools for evangelism and outreach.
“They are a huge gift,” said Oliver Edwards, pastor of Island of Hope, as they prepared for this afternoon’s event in the park. Island of Hope is a Charis Fellowship congregation in Bow Island.
The Great Canadian Adventure in Bow Island is the second of three similar programs that pairs missions experience with training in evangelism and is sponsored by Assist Canada, the Charis Fellowship church planting organization in Canada. Toronto is the site of the other two events. One was held in mid-June. The second is scheduled for August 9-15.
