Ted and Dawn Rondeau
Ted and Dawn Rondeau, who have worked with Encompass World Partners and Water for Good, were traveling through Atlanta last night on their motorcycle when they were involved in a serious accident. Ted, who most recently served as executive administrator and missions mobilizer at Grace Community Church, Goshen, Ind. (Jim Brown, senior pastor), posted a message on Facebook last night, which is shared below with his permission.
Prayers needed…Dawn’s hurt bad, not life threatening, but tremendous pain with multiple fractured ribs & collapsed lung, both legs broke. Distracted driver in big work van turned into us at intersection, t-boned us and slammed us to the pavement. We’re in Atlanta…she’s sedated for now…it’s gonna be painful healing process. I’m fine with a few bruises…Pray for her as you have a moment.
This morning, he reported to graceconnect.us that they are at Gwinnett Medical Center. “They have her heavy sedated so she was able to rest through the night,” he said. “Surgical consult sometime later today. That will tell us more.”
Staff from Encompass, who is headquartered in the Atlanta area, are helping, he said. “Biggest prayer is for Dawn’s pain to subside and healing.” They anticipate being in Atlanta for several days before returning home to Warsaw.
Update
Ted posted this update on Facebook late this afternoon:
Dawn’s out of surgery: plate & screws in her right ankle (DePuy-Synthes for all our Warsaw peeps) … set and splinted multiple fractures of her left lower leg (truck hit her there)…set, wrapped and slinged her broke clavicle & 5 ribs…ugh!! She’s resting comfortably now with meds. Dr says we’ll be here at least 4days. We’re set up in a large private room with a twin bed for me. I’ll stay here with her, Dawn will feel better with me here…I’ll feel better! Thnx everyone for all your love and prayers from all over the world…we are blessed!
