“How can I sum up my feelings after today for these people?! They’re my friends, my chosen family, my community, and there’s more of them than just pictured here! We just had our first official service together as Three Creeks Church, and I am blown away by them all. Today I celebrate them and all of their hard work, commitment, and loving hearts. But we’re not at the finish line, this is the starting line! And I can’t wait to see what God has in store for us together!”
That was the expression of @abbeytruslow a few days ago on Instagram after the Launch Sunday for Three Creeks Church, a new congregation in the Charis Fellowship.
The church, led by church planter Joel Trainer, had its first public service on Sunday, February 18.
According to Nathan Bryant, executive director of Assist Church Expansion, there were 242 people in attendance with lots of interest. “They basically filled the room on their public launch,” he said.
The church is meeting at Goshen Lane Elementary School in Gahanna, Ohio, an eastern suburb of Columbus, Ohio. It is the result of a partnership between Movement Church, Hilliard, Ohio (Mark Artrip, pastor), and Encounter Church, Dublin, Ohio (Sean Spoelstra, pastor).
