My son,
Christ has come to give us freedom. This freedom is not political, physical or financial…it is spiritual. He has given us freedom from sin, not that we will be sinless, but we are set free from the yoke of sin. We no longer need to be enslaved to sin, enslaved to addictions, enslaved to debilitating thoughts. Christ has set us free. This freedom should be life changing, a source of eternal joy through even the most difficult of circumstances.
This freedom is rooted in who Christ is and what He has done for us. It is rooted in our identity. Not in whom we think we are and what sort of a person we strive to make ourselves out to be, but in who God already says that we are. This identity is true even if we don’t know it. It has been given to us as children of the King, regardless of what we feel or think, it is truth, and understanding this identity is key in winning the battle for your own mind, your family, and your friends.
When you understand your Freedom and Identity in Christ, you will be motivated to share, love and reach others. You will be armed with absolute truth and understand your purpose in serving and loving God, being a reconciler to those that need to know the true and living God. These truths should drive you to live on mission, bringing the battle to the enemy, planting seeds of truth in the lives of those that are so desperate to hear them. If you are living out freedom and Identity in Christ, you will be noticed and you will be different. Let this be a foundation for sharing this truth with others, relying on the power of Christ and your identity in Him, knowing that He is the one that will make the seed grow, and that it is simply your role to plant it.
