My son, I lift this prayer for you. I pray that you would love God, passionately pursuing Him to know Him and live forHim. I pray that you would demonstrate God’s grace and love in all your relationships as you live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Gospel which rescued you through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Gospel which must resonate in and through your life continuously. I pray that you might not become entrapped by the lies of this world and the Father of lies, nor the lies you may tell yourself,… but know whose you are! And by knowing whose you are, may you continually, daily, always, every moment, learn to walk in the grace God has so graciously lavished on us. Always go back to grace. Again and again, go back to grace. The grace that first saved you. The grace that now lives in you. The grace you will show others through the truth of God’s precious and living Word.
One of the life verses I continually call out to God to be true in my life, andpray would be true in yours as well…
Teach me your way, Lord, that I may rely on your faithfulness; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.
Lord, I pray for my son in the faith, that he might know your way. I pray that he might know and follow your truth. Show him who he needs to be, what he needs to do, and give him the boldness and courage to put his faith and your calling into action. Give him an undivided heart that seeks Your kingdom and Your righteousness first. May he learn to glorify You Father in all he does, whatever he does. Help him to live in the wholeness of being in Christ, focused on You, Your Word, the gospel of grace. May he be like Jesus.
Help him to have the compassion of Jesus, the eyes of Jesus, the hands of Jesus, the feet of Jesus. Help him to feel the urgency of the Gospel in his gut, not paralyzed by the size of the mission, but empowered by the strength of the Holy Spirit within, to lead and to guide him in truth and action.
Father protect his heart from the wounds of this world, and the wounds of other brothers and sisters in Christ. When the discouragements and frustrations of this life become unbearable, help him not to forget who he is in Christ… strengthen and encourage his inner man. Help him to learn from these experiences and understand that even in the darkness Your promises are still true. Help him to trust in You, may You be Histrust
Help him to realize that we don’t work for the approval of others, but our goal is to please our Creator. You have uniquely and wonderfully created us, you have called us your children. We were chosen and loved by You, rescued fromthis world of darkness. Help him to find his joy in You and not the approval and accolades of this world. Guard his heart, guide his heart, protect his heart.
Lord, I pray that his life would reflect a passion for the best things. Help him not to become distracted by good things that drain him of the ability to do what you have called him to. Help him to stayed focused on Your mission. Help him not to be distracted by the temporary things of this world – the trinkets and treasures we are constantly being encouraged to chase after.
Father, help this man be the man of God You desire him to be, realizing that our strength and ability to pursue and live for You, comes from You. Continually renew this young man’s spiritual fervor in service and mission
Thank you for Your grace. Thank You for Jesus, Your son, crucified, and living again, living in me, through me, and with me. Thank you for Your Spirit in whom I find renewal and continuous realignment to your grace and truth. Father, may our lives continually magnify You. May I, may my son in the faith, continually grow smaller as we see You as You really are.
In the power and grace of our Lord Jesus, in His name, I give these things to You.
