Taylor,
Spending time with you has been a great encouragement to me. Your passion for Jesus and his gospel has reminded me to always keep first things first. Thank you for serving me in this way.
I want to remind you, Taylor, to always press in to understanding more and more of your position in Christ. You at times can be timid or self-deprecating. Whether this is from seeing indwelling sin still in your flesh or from accusations you believe, stand firm in who you are in Christ. Never forget the very gospel that you are so passionate to proclaim. Never forget Rom. 8:1.
You don’t have to be famous Taylor…make Jesus famous. You don’t have to be “successful”… be faithful. Be faithful Taylor! At all times, and never forgot that your faithfulness is first measured to the Gospel, not to results.
If and as God gives you a family Do Not Forget that they come first! If anyone tells you otherwise, or pressures you to put them second, lovingly and respectfully disagree. Love your family well. Love your wife well. Love your kids well. Do not forget that God has called you first to them and secondly to a ministry position.
Don’t ever forget the Gospel Taylor. The very Gospel that saves you also sustains you. Jesus saves you, and Jesus sustains you. And because you are saved God is working in you to will and to work for his good pleasure. Lean on him. Submit to him. Press in to him. Walk with him.
You’re an athlete, Taylor, and you understand the importance of preservance. Even when life and ministry gets hard, persevere. Pursue righteousness. Make Godly choices, even when you dont feel like it. Work out your salvation as God works in you. Always focus your eyes on Jesus, the author and prefector of your faith.
Turn your eyes on Jesus. Look full in his wonderful face. And the thigns of earth will grow strangly dim. In the light if his is glory and grace.
Timothy
