Two new graduate degrees will be added next year to Grace College’s growing online offerings. Both are compatible with the blended graduate opportunity that allows students to graduate in four years with both an undergraduate and a graduate degree. The two new graduate options, a Master of Science in Nonprofit Management and a Master of Science in Higher Education, will be a flexible way for students to continue their education while maintaining family commitments and work responsibilities.
Students completing a Master of Science in Nonprofit Management will graduate with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage a nonprofit organization. Students will learn the principals and structures of nonprofit organizations, and gain necessary skills for advancing the development of nonprofit programs, assessing the efficiency of an organization, and understanding the psychology behind marketing nonprofit organizations’ ideals to the public. Students will also know how to utilize social networking strategies to raise awareness and maximize contributions.
“I truly believe there isn’t another master’s in nonprofit management program available anywhere that is as flexible, as academically sound, and as biblically oriented as this one,” said Dr. Steve Grill, dean of the School of Adult and Community Education and program director of the Master of Science in Nonprofit Management.
Students completing a Master of Science in Higher Education will graduate with a biblically sound, balanced view of the field, a current awareness of the trends in higher education, and a sharpened perception of the academic world acquired through assessment, evaluation, and research. Graduates will be prepared and qualified to enter the field of higher education as a profession or pursue an advanced degree.
“We love the field of higher education. We’ve studied it, worked it, and lived it,” said Dr. Jim Swanson, Vice President of Academic and Student Services and Program Director of the Master of Science in Higher Education. “We want to offer our expertise to equip students for immediate integration into their field, anywhere they choose.”
Grace College is partnering with the Learning House, an online education collaborator that helps colleges build effective online programs, courses, and academic resources to make completing the degrees online efficient and effective.
