October 21 marked the 20th anniversary of Urban Hope Philadelphia. More than 18,000 people have been impacted as a result of the ministry of Urban Hope. Dozens of people have come to Christ and a church program has been established in the community.
During the anniversary celebration Chuck Miller shared his incredible story. Chuck is a friend of Urban Hope and oversees two recovery homes called SHALL NEVER THIRST. Chuck is always involved in the Thursday night recovery ministry at Urban Hope.
Also on Sunday, El Shaddai ministry team led worship. A man shared a testimony who came to the church two weeks ago, was given food and clothing, and made a decision for Christ. The man also got a new job this week and has received a voucher for new housing.
Two homeless men also stood for salvation. One of the men has been a part of the Urban Hope ministry for several weeks and his mother has recently begun attending the church. The man is now in a recovery program. God is working.
The Sunday service was a testimony of what God has done in the lives of others. After the service the group had cake and ice cream and a wonderful time of fellowship. The greatest joy was to see two men make first time salvation decisions for Jesus! That is what ministry is all about. — from cenational.org
