Here’s a blast from the past, shared by Roy Glass III. Roy, who serves as director of Camp Tuk-A-Way in Virginia, has posted this video to YouTube. He writes: “I have converted my dad’s films and slides that he took over the years to the digital age. He had a number of them that were taken at Camp Keystone during his time as Pastor at the Juniata/Altoona GBC. … Lots of Pastors in them. Some gone to be with the Lord, but some (like my dad) are still around.”
Camp Keystone was the Church Youth Camp for the old East District of the Grace Brethren Church. (Now known as the West Penn District) It was held every summer at a CCC Camp located in Laurel Hill State Park near Somerset PA. This video was converted from film and slides taken by Roy Glass, Jr., who was pastor of the Juniata Grace Brethren Church in the early 1960’s. It covers multiple years during the time frame of 1959-63. The camp itself is still being used as a summer youth camp. On a map of Laurel Hill SP it is Group Cabin Camp No. 5. In 1977 the West Penn District built Camp Mantowagan, where they currently run 5 weeks of summer youth camp for their churches.
