Tony Webb, executive director of Vision USA, a cooperating ministry in the Charis Fellowship, recently sent his December prayer letter. Among his report, is encouraging news of church planting not just in the Charis Fellowship, but with other faith groups where he works. A portion of his letter appears below. In 2019 God gave us more than He has given us in any other year:
162 new churches, plus 12 new regions giving us the new totals above.
What is also exciting, this is based upon what I know. There are often new church starts/new churches that I do not know about at this time.
I have been praying for a church a day in our VUSA network, we are getting closer, about ½; but not yet there. Please pray 2020 is the year for a church a day in our own network! … Part of this last week of year reflection has to do with reflecting on the stories from the year that I was blessed to hear and see.
Our focus is always on Jesus’ mission regardless whether we are starting a new church or working with an established church.
These harvest stories run the gambit. There were so many salvation stories and baptisms! Those are always exciting! What is also exciting to me are the stories of men and women sharing the gospel to people who do not know. Part of these stories is the reality that the person with whom Jesus was shared did not receive Him at that time, but our people shared the gospel!
So much seed planting – which is so exciting.
One man has been working with some young men for 7 years. God keeps moving things forward in their pursuit of Him. Chris shares what they need to hear as he spends time with them.
Another is focusing on her own neighborhood to bring the gospel closer to home.
Another is having his heart filled with a greater zeal and passion to reach more of his country with so many amazing stories already.
Another young man is taking other people with him as he proactively shares the gospel with people he meets on the street.
Another drives an Uber to meet people with whom he shares.
Another pastor has some families who have moved geographically, could they do some thing new together? We will see.
So much more.
