West Coast, Best Coast: Day 2, June 23rd
Today was the first full day of orientation for our West Coast students! After a quick breakfast this morning, students hit the ground running working in their 3 groups on puppets, dances, and dramas. TK also worked with the students on speech choir, and Bekah and Dana taught the students Acts 11:23-24. Lunch was spent at the iconic California fast-food joint, In-N-Out. While there, Duke, Emily, and many other students were able to strike up conversations with people and encourage them. Following lunch, students came back to the church to keep working on choir and speech choir, and were able to learn the ‘thank you’ song. Students got to hear from Ed Lewis and Tim Lansing about the importance of evangelizing and how to address different world views. Dinner was graciously provided by the Vegas and sponsored by Grace College. We concluded the evening with more choir practice, team time, and challenge hour, where the students had time to hear from the word and learn about authority. What a long day! The students (and leaders) are exhausted but can already see how the team is coming together and what a fun and rewarding summer we have ahead.
Please continue to pray for strength for everyone on the team as orientation continues and the students are absorbing so much new information. Rejoice with us for the people we have already come into contact with and the way God is providing for our team. The students are already connecting with each other and we praise God for that and pray that those relationships continue to grow!
