“Grace to Go” is the theme for Women’s Celebration ’08 in Tampa, Fla., July 27-31. The theme focuses on how God’s grace equips individuals to fulfill the Great Commission.
Cindy Landry, a pastor’s wife who has served as evangelism consultant for the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, will be the keynote speaker Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
“”It is my desire to lead women into a lifestyle of deepening their personal walk with the Father, and encouraging them to splash Jesus all over their world,” says Landry, who has also served in a variety of capacities with a number of women’s ministries.
Other sessions include special break-out groups on Sunday afternoon, an appreciation breakfast for women in ministry on Monday morning, and an update video on missionaries on Thursday. Worship for the week will be led by Sharon MacMillan and Melinda Cosentino with special music and testimonies from ladies in the Florida district.
Ladies may participate in two special giving opportunities to help children involved in schools associated with Grace Brethren churches in Haiti. One project is to provide school supplies for children in grades 1-12. A complete list is available online.
In addition, there will be opportunities to provide tuition for the children – an annual fee of $7 per child. With 80 percent unemployment in Haiti, many families cannot even afford that.
