The following report was received from the Wooster, OH, Grace Brethren church this afternoon:
Wednesday, Sept. 14 – Praise the Lord that Jeff Wike and the “chain saw team” from the Wooster (OH) Grace Brethren Church have cleaned rubble from 45 homes devastated by the hurricane in Biloxi, MS.
They are also helping clear the homes of law enforcement officers because they have been deployed and can’t take care of their own homes. Pray for their protection and witness to people they meet. Pray that they stay organized as they move from assignment to assignment in areas of devastation.
Pray that they are able to maintain their emotional and spiritual focus as they meet people who have lost everything. Pray also that they are able to relieve the pressure for a young Baptist pastor who is handling much of the administrative relief load and in whose church our team is staying.
Please pray for the Hurricane Katrina food drive Sept 18 from 9 am – 4 pm and Sept 19 from 1-5 pm. We have four full trucks and seven more trucks ready to go to Mississippi with the non-perishable food and water. We are asking the Northeastern Ohio Grace Brethren Churches to join in this effort.
