The following prayer request is excerpted from an e-mail that came from the Worthington, Ohio, Grace Brethren Church (Jim Custer, pastor).
Please be in prayer for the Pyles family, whose 17-year-old son, Jered, drowned at Alum Creek yesterday. He was a student at Worthington Christian School and was well-loved and admired by the students and staff.
He was one of the spiritual anchors for the junior guys at school, and the prayer of many students over this past year has been that God will bring members of the junior class and the entire school to their knees before the Lord. God has chosen to answer this prayer at this time and in this way. Meanwhile, we are all shocked and saddened by Jered’s death.
Please pray for his parents and his three older sisters, and especially for his best friend, Paul Smith, who was with him when it all happened, as well as the entire student body and staff as they grieve.
