Two Charis Fellowship organizations are teaming up to provide training for people interested in writing for their publications.
GraceConnect, the communications office for the Charis Fellowship, and Women of Grace USA, who provide leadership training and other resources for women of the Fellowship, are hosting a free monthly Writer’s Workshop via Zoom beginning in 2021.
The first will be at 7 p.m. (EST), Thursday, January 7, 2021, and will last approximately one hour. Pre-registration is required.
Dr. Terry White, an experienced writer and editor who led the Brethren Missionary Herald Co. (parent organization of GraceConnect), from 2003 to 2009, will lead the first session on “What Makes a Good Article.”
Among other topics on the schedule are how to write intros, leads, hooks and conclusions; types of articles; how to research for an article; and how to conduct an interview. They will be led by a variety of presenters, including Viki Rife, executive director of Women of Grace USA, and Liz Cutler Gates, executive director of GraceConnect.
The sessions are tentatively scheduled for the first Thursday of each month. If there is a change, it will be announced here at graceconnect.us.
GraceConnect publishes the magazine, GraceConnect, and the weekly GraceConnect eNews, in addition regularly posted stories at graceconnect.us. Women of Grace USA produces an annual magazine, Women’s Spectrum, and a weekly blog at womenofgraceusa.wordpress.com, in addition to a monthly e-newsletter, Grace Touch. All are potential outlets for writers in the Charis Fellowship.
