Green Springs council fills vacant seats
Because of four vacancies on the board at the turn of the new year, council was not able to meet in January and Mayor Adam Greenslade could not appoint additional members until 30 days after the vacancies occurred. During the Dec. 4 meeting, Greenslade indicated Angela Bliss and Bill Young had not been appointed to council in time to run for re-election in November to maintain their seats, and he intended to reappointment them in February because of their efforts with committees and dedicated service and since they first were appointed Sept. 18.
At Monday’s meeting, Greenslade appointed Bliss and Young to two of the four open council seats before other candidates introduced themselves. They were Derek Knieriemen, Zach Pinkerton and Robin Ross. Knieriemen said he works at Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station and was interested in helping the community. Pinkerton said he is a pastor at Grace Community Church in Fremont and was looking for a way to get involved with the village. Ross is MIS coordinator for WSOS and said Green Springs is a great community and she wanted to do more to get involved.
